Description
British used two main types of turn indicators, this is the less often seen version as what fits a standard 3 and 1/8” instrument Mount, unlike their other version. As a result this instrument was most often seen in lend-lease US equipment operated but RAF or RCAF, RAAF, RNZAF, etc. the Lockheed Hudson, Lockheed Ventura, Beech 18, AT-6, were frequently equipped with this instrument when operated by RAF. It’s a 24V electric DC gyro that is actually two instruments in one. The top needle indicates coordinated turn, and the bottom indicates rate of turn. Both comprise one portion of blind flight equipment for aircraft. Gyro has been untested but has intact wiring.Clean face, good glass, clear markings, visible inked acceptance stamp on rear of case and ghost markings on face (see photos)
This instrument was part of a retired RAF instrument collector and in his private collection last 30+ years.
I will pack it carefully but I would suggest insuring it due to its value.
