This World War II evasion and escape map covers parts of Holland, Belgium, France, and Germany on the Sheet C side at a scale of 1:1,000,000. The Sheet E side is at the same scale, and shows parts of Germany, the Bohemia/Moravia Protectorate, Poland, and Slovakia.
The map is marked as Sheet C and Sheet E, plus 43/C and 43/E. It measures approximately 33.5 x 30 inches.
Although these are usually referred to as silk escape maps, it could be silk, rayon or another similar fiber. Escape maps also have different edge finishes as they were produced in large quantities at various locations during the war. This one has a hand-finished hem.
This map has folding creases. It has some small spots and smudges, including a red ink smudge near right margin on the E side. See close up photo. No holes. Free of offensive odors, with just a scent of old fabric. The hem is holding well.
