A scarce hand-crafted Runway from original part of WW2 Junker88 shot down in Malta Trench Art picture frame. Lucite floral decor sides, wooden base.
excellent and authentic, ca.1941 ! You can notice hand-crafted Runway and propellers of fighter plane as centrepiece base of the frame.
On the evening of April 29, 1941, a formation of nine Ju 88s bombers of III/ (Kampf)/Lehrgeschwader 1 took off from Sicily. Their orders were to attack cruisers and destroyers spotted in Malta’s Grand Harbour by reconnaissance aircraft previously that day. They were spotted and shot down near Ghajn Tuffieha.
