    Description

In good used condition a WW2 British Army P-37 Web Economy Belt, what’s interesting is there is 2 theories of what this belt is, research on Karkee Web state’s resemblance to a Economy Pattern 37 web belt, brass fittings, small double hooks are sewn directly to the ends of the belt with web slides. Karkee also states their example has no rear buckled chapes, this one shows evidence of having them but removed. Also stated by Karkee Web researchers that neither the list of changes nor The Army Council Instructions seem to address this type, paraphrasing. Possibly some sort of Equipment Belt, one suggestion is that it is the belt portion of the harness for the Ackpack Flamethrower also referred to as Flamethrower Portable No.2, 7000 produced during the war. Second mentioned in Blighty militaria.com ad description of a Economy Belt P-37 to save precious brass, theirs shows steel fittings instead of brass and steel buckle on the chapes, theirs ink stamped MECo.1943. S Broad Arrow, Karkee Web no chapes or ink stamp. This one measures approximately 36-38” long, belt measures approximately 2 1/8 wide and by hooks 1 3/4” faded ink stamps but appears to be a S. Found picture of the possible on en.m.Wikipedia.org. Rare belt.
