    Description

    WW2 Africa Star "8th Army" Group of (4) Named Medals to Hawes, S.A Signals
    All named to: 213259 A. HAWES
    1939/45 Star; Africa Star with 8th Army bar; War and Africa Service Medals.
    EF with his ribbon bar.
    Copies of his record of service show that Arthur Hawes attested 16/10/1940 at Pochtesfroom in No 2 G.H.Q. Sig Coy SACS giving his civilian occupation as a Cartage Contractor and residence of Johanesburg.  1/3/42 to L/Cpl. Class "A" Artisan.  23/4/43 from SATC to TSC.  Discharged 29/10/45. He served in East Africa, Abyssinia, Egypt and Libya. Character stated to be "Very Good".
    Medals are in EF Condition.
