    Description

This is a nice vintage Rayleigh road bike that is all original except for new tires. I measured the seat tube at 23 inches (58 cm) so it is for a fairly tall rider.
There some minor scratches in the paint but it's in good condition overall: it looks good, has not been abused or damaged and it's a good original example. This bike was made in the USA  and the Techniums are regarded well by those  that have owned them and ridden them for years. This model, the PRE,  was made later in the series and the frame is better than the earlier ones; it's a decent road bike and fine for riding on road trips even today. T
he Suntour derailleurs shift smoothly and the Diacompe brakes work well, similar to the Campagnolo brakes they copied (the bike I've ridden the most is an Italian racing bike with Campagnolo components).
The frame tubes are Aluminum 6061-T8, it has a Sakae crank set, Diacompe brakes and Suntour 3040 derailleurs and they all work well, better than the Shimano components on some of my newer off-road bikes. I just replaced the tires, put in one new tubes and replaced one of the brake adjusters with a correct vintage adjuster so everything works.  So this is a good bike for someone that had a Technium before or for a younger rider that wants a decent vintage road bike without having to pay a lot. Not as light as a new carbon bike but its still stiff and rides well.
