    About Terminalia Catappa /Sea Almond Tree
    Also known as Ketapang-, almond-, Terminalia- or sea almond tree.Terminalia catappa is a fruit tree in the family Combretaceae, native to New Guinea. Up to a height of 25 meters in its natural environment, it supports dry climates, spray and is often used in aligning the seafront Many properties are assigned.
    Sheets for their acidifying and anti-fungal properties, the bark for tannin and fruit, including the pulp and almonds are edible.
    Large, handsome tropical tree to 85' with obovate, leathery foliage. Produces a delicious edible nut and is grown as a shade tree or ornamental. Spreading branches are in tiers to 50'.
    Germination
    Germination typically commences in 3–8 weeks, with a germination rate of greater than 50% for freshly harvested fully mature fruit.
    Put in a shallow dish of fresh water and leave it overnight or about 24 hours. The seed will swell as it absorbs water. After that, it is planted in good soil in a pot at a depth of 1-1/2 - 2 inches. Do not let it sit in the water for a long time or it can start to rot. I have simply planted the seed without the soaking, with some good results.

    Seedlings should be grown in a standard potting mixture or fertile, freely draining sandy loam or loam, preferably with good levels of organic matter. Incorporation of a controlled-release, complete fertilizer into the potting mixture will ensure rapid, healthy seedling growth.
