Description
This is a World War II "Bundles for Britain" donation lapel badge made from resin and wood from the ruins of St. Dunstan's Cathedral in London (or some other structure), which was heavily bombed during the 1941 Blitz. This non-military aid program was begun in 1940 by a New Yorker named Mrs. Wales Latham. The pin reads DIEU ET MON DROIT (God and my right), Great Britain's motto, and shows a heraldic lion.WONDERFUL period souvenir from Great Britain. Perhaps even more desirable because it still has its ORIGINAL backing! I was only able to find ONE other example of one of these with its card on Worthpoint and that one was incomplete and torn! This is an EXTREMELY rare item!
Condition is old. (LOL) card shows wear as does pin. See photos for additional condition details.
