A native clumping perennial grass which forms a 2-3’ wide and tall mound of fine-textured leaves topped by spectacular airy clouds of pink-colored flowers in late summer/autumn. A great
grass
for the garden border or native planting. Beautiful when not in flower—spectacular when in bloom. Outstanding as a specimen—individual—plant or en masse to provide an airy lighter-than-clouds effect when in bloom. The inflorescence remains through most of the winter.
Can be cut back before its spring flush but best left as-is, one has to only rack out loose leaves in late winter. As such a lower maintenance grass than most.
Additionally, the seeds offered in this listing have been prepared by removing the
bracts
(papery covering of the seed
). A few seeds may still have their bracts intact—this does not affect germination.
