Description
Outstanding pair of Chicago Silver Co.(1925-1950) Art Deco solid sterling silver convertible candelabras. Each measures 15 1/2" height x 14" wide across the branches and the pair have a combined weight of 2100 grams(67.5 troy ounces). The candelabras are hollow and not weighted or reinforced with other metals. Solid sterling silver. With the three light branches removed you are left with a pair of straight sticks that are 10 1/2" height. The bases are 4 1/4" x 4 1/4". The candelabras are in excellent condition. Not a single ding or dent and only modest surface wear. No tarnish stains or pitting. The silver is clean and bright. Each shows a small JGF monogram on the base which could be removed by any competent jeweler if so desired. The bases are stamped sterling Revere along with CSC maker's mark. All drip cups and the branches are stamped sterling. The branches are also hollow. It's really hard to believe these things have lasted this long in this condition. Definitely giftable. Perfect for a wedding or anniversary. Please enlarge all pics for best details.
