How to Grow a Lanzones Tree
Though the tree may be grown from seeds, it will take 10 to 12 years for the fruits to start to ripen. Purchasing a healthy plant from a nearby nursery is your best option.
Water
When the soil is just slightly moist, the lanzone plant does well. Just make sure it isn't submerged in standing water, as that might lead to fungus issues. If the topsoil feels dry to the touch, check the moisture level and deeply water the area.
Soil
For optimum growth, the plant likes rich, slightly acidic, well-draining soil with water-retentive qualities. Any sandy to loamy soil can be used if it has been supplemented with organic material like compost or well-rotted manure.
Climate
It thrives in temperatures between 20 and 35 °C. The plant, however, can survive in a wide range of temperatures, from 12 to 40 °C. Given full light, high humidity, and moist soil, lanzones thrive in the humid tropical sections of the rainforest and also do well in the environment of India.
Fertilizer
For maximum benefits, apply compost or well-rotted manure on a regular basis. During its fruiting season, using a heavy potassium and phosphate fertilizer will be quite beneficial.
Pruning
After the tree reaches maturity, you can prune the branches' damaged and ailing limbs. Pruning will induce some lateral development as well because the tree has an upper growth habit.
Flower Thinning
Some experts suggest removing the extra clusters of flowers from the small branches, as the energy of the tree diverts more here, and sometimes cause deformities in the fruits
