: Seed needs no special pretreatment.
A spreading shrub which produces many pendant, hibiscus-like flowers that contrast with its soft-green maple-like leaves. Blooms best in sun but is useful, and most commonly used, in the shade garden. This one is a butterfly and hummingbird magnet.
Outside its hardiness zone it can be grown as an annual. Easily cut back if needed to rejuvenate its shape or reduce its size.
