Vintage Buco black / dark brown leather helmet very good for its age soft and supple condition made in Detroit USA. This is a lined leather Medium size. One of the most popular leather helmet manufacturers dates back to 1933 when the company was founded. Buco's sales slogan "Look better, Feel better, are better. The helmets remained popular after the war thru the 1960's. They were sold by all Harley Davidson and Indian Motorcycle Dealers during that time period. Buco was the trade name for the Joseph Buegeleisen Company and was known throughout the cycling industry as the largest safety and accessory manufactures of the time period. Leather helmets and jackets were produced for Harley, Indian, Police Departments and the Military. The company was acquired by the American Safety Equipment Corp. of NY in 1966.
