A genuine wartime Royal Air Force squadron pin badge. In gold coloured metal, 3.5cm high with a safety clasp fastener to the rear.
These badges were made by H W Miller of Birmingham, UK. It is possible to date the badges according to the maker's logo on the rear side. ( : indicates a new line on the address stamp)
Up to 1934 the company used the stamp MILLER : 118 : BRANSTON ST. : B'HAM
Between 1935 and 1958 the stamp was changed to reflect Mr H.W Miller now controlling his father's company to H.W.MILLER LTD : BRANSTON ST. : B'HAM.18
Between 1958 and 1974 the stamp became H.W.MILLER LTD : B'HAM.18
So this badge was pressed between 1935 and 1958.
The MFPS were the Mobile Film and Photographic Section of the RAF.
