a very attractive medium sized tree which due to it´s very wide natural distribution and tolerance to a wide range of soil types makes it suitable as a landscape tree in various latitudes. As others Acacias can withstand
drought and extreme heat, in Southern Europe it grows extremely well but also in colder climates like UK if protected from heavy frosts and exposed to full sunshine.

The shell coating of acacia seeds is very dense and will take a long time to germinate without some attempt to break through the tough exterior.
It is recommend to scarify the seeds with sandpaper or nail clippers to crack them. Alternatively the seeds can be boiled for 5 minutes and then kept in a glass of water overnight before planting in the soil. For higher germination rate warm temperature is desirable (20º - 25º)
