Nature is a master of surprising, but the shy mimosa is truly a masterpiece from the world of flora - it delights even a sophisticated florist! No plant will seem to you as "alive" as Mimosa pudica: a light breeze, a drop of dew falling, or a touch, as the leaf immediately droops, is enough. After some time, the leaf (there are from 10 or more pairs of leaf blades on the petiole, like in ferns) begins to smoothly return to its original position.
In the tropics, the shy mimosa does not have a pronounced period of physiological rest, but in our climatic zone, alas, it is necessary to grow it from seeds every year.

The shy mimosa is perfectly propagated by seeds, which can be purchased relatively inexpensively in flower shops. And growing in an annual crop has the advantage that you should not take care of fertilizing, take up space on the windowsill with large flowerpots – ordinary half-liter plastic cups will also fit for mimosa.
For sowing seeds, choose small pots with a diameter of about 9 cm.
Fill them with a mixture of rotted leaves, humus, fertile soil, which are taken in equal parts, add about half of the sand. You can buy a ready-made soil mixture with a high content of peat substrate for indoor flowers.
The soil is spilled with a light pink solution of potassium permanganate or heated in the oven for about an hour at a temperature of 50 degrees for disinfection.
The bottom of the pot is covered with expanded clay or fine gravel. This will protect the root system from rotting. Then a layer of fertile soil is poured.
